Papers, 1936-1970 (bulk 1936-1945).

Collection includes correspondence, news releases, clippings, expense accounts, addresses, and other papers relating to Berry's involvement in Republican politics in Iowa and the nation, including the Republican convention (1936), anti-Harrison Spangler editorial campaign (1939), and the Republican Farm Study Committee (1941) of which he was executive secretary. Correspondence offers insights on many of the leaders of the Party and contenders for the presidential nominations from 1936 to the early 1940s. Of particular interest are summaries of findings from the Iowa Farm Tenancy Committee (1938) of which he was state committeeman in charge of hearings in Madison, Marion, and Warren Counties investigating the large increase in farm renters. Also included are correspondence and final report of the Highway Committee of the Iowa Postwar Rehabilitation Commission (1944) of which he was Commission Chairman.
